1. Introduction

Welcome to PrivaSpend (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of the App

PrivaSpend is a privacy‑conscious expense tracker designed to store all data locally on your device. The App does not require an account, does not collect personal information for its own use, and does not share your data with advertisers.

To provide intelligent natural language parsing (e.g., extracting amount, category, and merchant from phrases like "coffee 4.5"), the App may transmit text that you type or that is generated from voice or OCR to a secure server operated by us. Raw voice audio and original receipt images are never uploaded – they are processed entirely on your device (voice transcription and OCR extraction happen locally). Only the resulting text is sent to our server for analysis.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non‑commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the App.

4. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your device;
• Any data you enter into the App;
• Ensuring that your use of the App complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

5. No Account; Data Ownership

Because the App does not require an account, you retain full ownership of all data you enter. All transaction history remains stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your raw transaction data except transiently when you use the AI parsing feature (the text you submit is processed and then not retained).

6. AI Processing & Third‑Party Service

The App’s natural language understanding feature is powered by a proprietary AI service operated by us (which may utilise third‑party infrastructure under a strict data‑processing agreement).

• When you use voice input, your speech is transcribed locally on your device using system speech recognition. Only the resulting text is sent to our server.
• When you use OCR (receipt scanning), the image is processed locally to extract text. Only the extracted text is sent to our server.
• If you type directly, the text you type is sent to our server.
